The official flowchart of cliques at my high school and how they overlap and relate.

Does high school ever change? Why does it seem to break down like this in every high school? I guess certain interests and proclivities will always mesh well with others and there are other socio-economic factors that usually play out similarly, but I guess my question is more who designs these buckets? Are they a product of similar school systems with the same options for what you can pursue or do people at that age always divide in this fashion because it’s just how people socially develop? Probably a bit of both.
Thinking about high school is making me nostalgic for a time when I didn’t have a phone, much less a smartphone on me at all times. And no laptop. I just uh…talked to people and when nothing was going on, got bored and occupied myself and thought silly thoughts or wandered around. I’m not saying it’s better, but I’m pretty sure it was nice. And I’m pretty sure there’s no going back.
