Calling All Logicians
A message from Ben Greenman
In 1980, using a shoebox, a Spirograph set, and a car battery, I built a computer whose only job was to generate Venn diagram jokes. It was seventh grade, I think. I was not any good at building computers; I got a B- for the project. I was cleaning out my basement recently and found the computer, which I had named “Venn 2000,” back when 2000 seemed a long way off. It was dusty and the car battery was leaking. I cleaned it up, got a new battery, gave it a new coat of paint just for loyalty’s sake, and powered it up. These were the first three diagrams it generated. I’m not sure if it’s working. Do you think these make sense? Which makes the most sense?
